'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia' season 13 delayed

With the 12th season ending just two months ago, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is just two seasons shy of becoming the longest running American live-action sitcom. However, everyone's favorite ignorant, narcissistic bar owners won't be back next year for the show's 13th season.

Kaitlin Olson, who plays Sweet Dee in the show, confirmed the delay with TV Guide, saying "we ended up pushing our next season a year because we were all busy with separate projects this year." Olson is currently starring in Fox's sitcom, The Mick, which has been renewed for a second season.

Glenn Howerton, a.k.a. Dennis, needs a break from Sunny as well. The ending of season 12 alluded to the possibility that Howerton may be leaving the show. "It’s not entirely certain whether I am or am not," he told Uproxx in an interview.

Howerton will be starring in NBC's upcoming sitcom, A.P. Bio, as a high school biology teacher, according to Variety.

Production of the 13th season is still up in the air, but it will most likely air in early 2019. While it seems that the future of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia isn't clear, FXX has renewed the series through season 14.
