Former 'RHONJ' star Dina Manzo and beau hospitalized after violent home robbery

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Dina Manzo and her boyfriend, David Cantin, became the victims of a violent attack during a home invasion over the weekend.

People noted that the couple went out Saturday evening and when they returned home found two masked people inside and a robbery in progress. The assailants tied up, beat and then continued to rob the pair's townhouse.

The shocking news was confirmed by their lawyer.

“Dina and David are obviously shaken up from the traumatic and violent home invasion and robbery,” attorney Andrew B. Brettler said in statement.

According to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office, Manzo and Cantin never had a chance to get away because the suspects rushed them at the door and hit Cantin with a baseball bat multiple times and punched Manzo in the face several times. The two were left injured and after stealing cash and jewelry, the perpetrators fled.

The couple was able to free themselves after the suspects left, dialed 911 and were taken to the hospital.

Both suffered facial injuries, but are expected to be okay physically. However, they are still understandably shaken after the terrifying ordeal.

"No one should ever have to go through what they did," Brettler said.  "They are grateful to law enforcement and the other emergency responders and appreciate everyone’s concern and well-wishes."

NBC New York noted that Manzo appeared on the first two seasons of the RHONJ. She returned for season six in 2014 before leaving again for her own reality series on HGTV titled Dina's Party. That show was canceled after two seasons. The 46-year-old is still very close with Housewives star Teresa Giudice and is the godmother of one of her daughters.

Police are continuing to search for those responsible for this crime.
