Game of Thrones' to shoot multiple endings to stop the spread of spoilers

Spoilers for the final episode in Season 7 of Game of Thrones follow:

Last time we were in Westros we saw the Knight King take down the Wall with his ice dragon, then lead his troops to march south and presumably begin destroying everything in their path. Every one of us were asking ‘what could possibly happen next?’ Well don’t worry, you’re not going to find out until the Season 8 premiere because HBO is taking extra efforts to avoid any and all online spoilers by shooting multiple endings of the show.

In a report with The Morning Call, HBO programming president Casey Bloys said “I know in Game of Thrones, the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really knows what happens. You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know. So they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”

As far as we know, this means even the stars of the hit show won’t even know the ending until it’s revealed in the finale.

This announcement comes after HBO has had to constantly battle online leaks and hackers. Given the show's popularity, it’s understandable that they would want to make all the necessary requirements not to ruin the show for their loyal fan-base.

So, I guess we really are going to have to wait to see whether Jon Snow really is going to marry his aunt or whether Daenerys sees fit to chop off his head instead when she learns about his true heritage. However, we respect HBO’s decision here — especially because this will likely take a lot of extra work and time.

The release date of Season 8 of Game of Thrones has not yet been announced, although it will likely be towards the end of 2018. Please don’t make us wait TOO long HBO.
