8. He isn’t at ease with her closeness to the family, especially in regards to Kevin.

Close families are wonderful to watch but can be hard to fit into. Add twins to the equation and relationships get even more complicated. Kate has never been quiet about her connection to Kevin. To be fair, the twins’ codependency has lessened a bit, but Kevin and Kate still have an unbreakable bond. Toby needs to make peace with it and figure out how he fits into the equation and know that sometimes, he will not be the first person Kate calls when she has a bad day. It is promising that Kate told Toby about the baby first. Progress. But that will likely not be the case every time and he needs to come to terms with that reality.
