Brad Pitt has gone from small roles in TV shows to some of the most important films of the past few decades. He has shown his versatility with collaborations with major directors such as David Fincher, Quentin Tarantino and Terrence Malcik.
After years of bit parts on TV, Pitt broke through in films in the early '90s and films like Se7en, Twelve Monkeys and Fight Club showed his skills. Twelve Monkeys gave Pitt his first Oscar nomination for best Supporting Actor. He has also been nominated for Best Actor twice for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) and Moneyball (2011).
During the 2000s, he began starring in the Ocean's franchise with friend George Clooney. Films like those and others helped establish him as one of the most well-known stars in the world. He has bounced between more popular fare and art-house films. For example, in 2011, he starred in the popular Moneyball, while also working with acclaimed director Malick in The Tree of Life.
Pitt's private life has always been a focus of the tabloids for decades thanks to his first marriage to Friends star Jennifer Aniston. After the two divorced and after years of speculation, Pitt finally popped the question to Angelina Jolie. The two have been engaged since April 2012.
His future projects include World War Z and Twelve Years A Slave.
