Jason Segel

Jason Segel plays Marshall Erickson on How I Met Your Mother. Born January 18, 1980 in Los Angeles, Segel got his start in acting in the short-lived, but critically acclaimed show, Freaks and Geeks. On Freaks and Geeks, he played the character Nicholas Andropolis.

After Freaks and Geeks ended, he had a string of recurring rolls on CSI before gaining the role of Marshall on How I Met Your Mother. It was then that he became an established actor and was given the freedom to do broader comedic roles in films such as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up and I Love You, Man before making the leap to the apex of his career, The Muppets.

Segel has said that one of his biggest passions is singing, and this has been shown on occasion through episodes of Mother and in the films, The Muppets and Forgetting Sarah Marshall.
