Born July 20, 1988, Julianne Alexandra Hough made a name for herself on ABC's Dancing With the Stars. Hough was born in Orem, Utah as the youngest of five siblings. Her brother, Derek Hough is also a professional dancer featured on DWTS.
Hough began dancing competitively at age nine, studying in London under Corky and Shirley Ballas, parents of fellow DWTS alum, Mark. Hough and her brother Derek joined the Italia Conti Academy of Theater Arts, and she went on to win Junior World Latin Champion and International Latin Youth Champion at the Blackpool Dance Festival at age 15.
Upon returning to the U.S. she joined the season 4 cast of Dancing With The Stars, winning the competition that year. Hough wont both seasons 4 and 5, and continued the show until season 8, competing with then boyfriend, country singer Chuck Wicks.
In 2007, Hough began to pursue a country music career, releasing her first single "Will You Dance With Me." Her self-titled debut album hit No. 1 on the Top Country Albums, and she toured along with Kelley Pickler, Jewel, and Chuck Wicks on Brad Paisley's 2008 Tour. In 2009 Hough won the Top New Female Vocalist Award at the Academy Country Music Awards. She began recording her second album, Wildfire in 2012.
Hough also began acting at a young age. Her first acting gig was in 2001's Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in which she is credited as "Hogwarts schoolgirl." In 2010 she appeared as a dancer named Georgia in the Christina Aguilera film, Burlesque. Hough scored her first lead role in 2011's remake of Footloose, and in 2012 played the role of Sherrie Christian in the film adaptation of the Broadway Musical Rock of Ages. In 2013 Hough's most recent film Safe Haven was released.
After dating Chuck Hicks, Hough dated entertainer Ryan Seacrest from 2010 to 2013.
