Born February 1, 1986, Lauren Katherine Conrad is a fashion designer, author, and reality television personality best known for the MTV series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County and its spin-off The Hills.
Conrad was born in Laguna Beach, California and graduated from Laguna Beach High School in 2004. She showed interest in working in the fashion industry since 6th grade, and attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. She left Laguna Beach after the second season to transfer to the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.
In 2006, Conrad moved to L.A. to pursue her fashion career. She enlisted her spin-off The Hills that documented the lives of her and her friends and roommates Heidi Montag, whom she met at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Audrina Patridge, and Whitney Port. Conrad and Port interned at Teen Vogue, and Conrad went on to work for Kelly Cutron at her PR firm People's Revolution.
Conrad announced she was leaving her show and filmed her last episode in May of 2009, only to be replaced by her Laguna Beach counterpart, Kristin Cavallari to finish out the series. The series wrapped in July 2010.
Conrad released her first novel, L.A. Candy in 2009. It was inspired by her life and became a New York Times best seller. She followed it with two sequels, Sweet Little Lies and Sugar and Spice. Conrad launched a clothing line in collaboration with Kohl's in 2009 called LC by Lauren Conrad. She has since made several guest appearances in various television spots and movies. Conrad has been linked romantically to Laguna Beach and The Hills co-stars Stephen Colletti and Brody Jenner, actor Kyle Howard, and most recently musician William Tell.
