Lena Dunham

Born May 13, 1986, Lena Dunham is an American filmmaker and actress. She created and stars in the new HBO hit series, Girls. She's been nominated for four Emmy Awards, and has won two Golden Globes for the series.

Dunham was born in New York City and graduated from Oberlin College in 2008 with a degree in creative writing. She met Girls actress Jemima Kirk at Saint Ann's School in Brooklyn. Her 2010 feature film, Tiny Furniture, won Best Narrative Feature at the South by Southwest Music and Media Conference.

Since then, Dunham went on to create Girls, which has garnered much success with audiences. In October 2012, Dunham signed a deal with Random House to publish her first book, a collection of essays called Not That Kind of Girl: A Young Woman Tells You What She's Learned.

Dunham is currently dating Jack Antonoff, lead singer of the band fun.
