Elisha Cuthbert

Elisha Ann Cuthbert was born on November 30, 1982 in Calgary, Canada. Growing up in Greenfield Park, near Montreal, Elisha became fluent in French. In 1989 she began modeling children’s clothes. Her first television appearance was in the Nickelodeon show Are You Afraid of the Dark? From there she appeared in a variety of family shows/movies including a job as host for Canada’s Popular Mechanics for Kids.

Elisha graduated Centennial Regional High School in 2000 and soon left for Los Angeles. Shortly thereafter she landed the role of Kim Bauer in Fox’s hit series 24. Her character on the show was widely disliked and at a point in second season the writer’s seemed to have absolutely nothing to do for her storyline that they had her caught in a cougar trap for several episodes. The incident is still talked about in magazines and blogs to this day.

She left being a regular on 24 and after a few minor appearances in such films as Old School and Love Actually her first lead came in 2003’s The Girl Next Door. Her next was the 2005 House of Wax remake with Paris Hilton; both films received their share of criticism.

Elisha reprised her role on 24 for a few episodes in 24’s 5th season and is currently signed onto numerous projects.

Besides acting, Cuthbert’s other love is hockey. She is an avid fan of the L.A. Kings and even has a blog column on nhl.com. Cuthbert dated Justin Timberlake’s best friend, Trace Ayala, for a number of years and in the past has participated in NSYNC’s Challenge for the Children celebrity basketball game and skills competition. The two became engaged in 2004 but have apparently separated. She’s recently been seen with the L.A. Kings’ Sean Avery.
