Body Double

The Fourth Book in this series about a female Detective, and a female Medical Examiner!
Medical Examiner Maura Isles is shocked when she opens up a body bag on her operating table and finds herself. Or at least someone who looks exactly like her. She is shocked beyond words. She comes back from vacation, only to find cop cars on her street, in front of her house.
Only later, when she opens up that body bag does she know why those cops were there. Those cops thought that she was dead. The woman did die in front of her house, and looks a lot like her.
Detective Jane Rizolli must uncover why this woman was killed, and why she looks exactly like Maura. Only after uncovering some facts, does Jane realize that this is bigger than it seems to be. That there is more crime out there, all linked together -- all linked to Maura Isles.
I enjoy all of Tess Gerritsen's books, so it's no surprise that I would love this one too. She has spark and pizzaz when it comes to writing. If you have yet to read any of her books, then I suggest you start with either Harvest, or The Surgeon. Both are different series, but both are the first novel in the series.
