Teens Cook
by Megan, Jill and Judi Carle
Really quick and easy normal foods written by teens.
We've all been in the position of being hungry, but staring into the bare fridge, right? What is your plan of action for a night like this? Pizza? Chinese? Well this book will help a lot with that and give you quick, easy recipes to try. Okay, if you haven't gone to the store in a month and there is literally nothing in there then it probably won't be all that much help; it's not a magic book. However, there are many recipes that use things that most people would have in their pantry or fridge and they are relatively simple -- quick too.
Megan and Jill Carle, two teenagers, wrote this book with the mother Judi Carle, who is a chef, so it makes for some interesting ideas. This book is perfect for teens and college students who like to experiment with food. The good thing about this book is that it shows you how to make things that kids and teens would actually eat. There are recipes for French onion soup, sushi, grilled cheese and pizza. The book has sections for breakfast, soup and salad, dinner for one, family size dinners and desserts. Nothing in the book is too complicated or gourmet, I would eat anything in the book. Most cook books have recipes with capers or caviar or other expensive gourmet ingredients. This book is perfect for a first time college student or teen that wants to learn how to cook basic everyday foods. It’s written by teens so it is very relatable and everything is explained in terms that are very easy to understand. I personally made a few of these recipes and they were really easy -- all it took was a trip to the store and some time.
