Natural Cures: What They Don't Want You to Know

by Kevin Trudeau

Kevin Trudeau identifies his belief that the FDA, Congress, and pharmaceutical companies are preventing citizens from becoming healthy for financial gain

Kevin Trudeau writes about natural cures which he claims have been covered up by our government for financial gain and explains alternative cures which he believes are much safer to use than pharmaceutical drugs.

The content is certainly intriguing, given that much of the information he uses to back his theory is correct, but his message seems to get lost within his antagonistic, defensive style. Trudeau spends more time criticizing the government and its affiliates, who he largely perceives as a big group of wealthy liars who will stop short of nothing for financial gain. Trudeau even accuses the government of hiding the cure for all cancers in effort to preserve the trillions spent each year in the industry of cancer treatment. Curing cancer and other diseases would apparently cost our government and Big Pharma tremendous financial loss, and any individual who claims to have an actual cure for a significant disease will be secretly prosecuted, harassed, or even murdered by our government.

Trudeau’s style of writing relates a tendency to see things in all “black or white,” as evidenced by his consistent use of absolutes like “all, never, every, etc.” There are few absolutes in life, thus the reader may become weary of the author’s message.

For example, Trudeau claims that “all” psychologists, psychiatrists, and other mental health professionals are fakes, and that no technique works. While there are certainly professionals in all careers who are better or worse than others, no one profession is comprised of “all” fakes. Thus, the writer may discredit himself, or lose some credibility with the reader at best.

Trudeau then gives information leading the public to his website, where he supposedly discloses the secret, high security information that he was prevented from publishing in his book. Naturally, his website charges a monthly fee to join in order to learn this information. Trudeau signs off in the last chapter of his book by cleverly implying that he learned all of this by working within the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for many years, leaving the reader wondering if the author is actually reporting valid information or if he is delusional.

Some of the nature cures identified in this book are fairly interesting, but readers take caution. This reviewer tried the suggested natural cure for urinary tract infections and wound up crawling on all fours to the phone to call her physician for an antibiotic two days later (which cleared the painful issue up in hours). The book is an interesting read, but buyers beware of the irrational thought patterns and spending traps that are threaded throughout this book.
