Her wonderful sense of humor may be distasteful to those likely to take offense at crass language, since her sense of humor is usually sprinkled with crude language and metaphors … then again, that’s what makes her book so funny. McCarthy’s intelligence is also made evident through her sense of humor, a quality of hers often obscured through her media appearances. Most readers, particularly new mothers, will appreciate McCarthy’s personality, sense of humor, and her ability to capture the joys and humiliations that are often unspoken, yet so common.
