Hazing Meri Sugarman
by M. Apostolina
A former outcast refuses defeat against the most powerful sorority's president.
Hazing Meri Sugarman, by M. Apostolina, tells the story of Cindy Bixby, a girl who has pretty much been a loser and outcast all her life. However, Cindy is entering into college and is excited for the fresh, clean start. Believing that she will become popular if she can join a sorority, much less the Alpha Beta Delta, which her own mother was once president of, Cindy is determined to make it. All Cindy wants is to get into the sorority and to get a boyfriend. Both Cindy receives, but the result is nothing like she expected.
The president of the Alpha Beta Delta, Meri Sugarman provides her with torturing hazing rituals and when Cindy’s potential boyfriend is Meri’s former, everything only goes downhill for Cindy. The girls of the sorority get perfect grades without needing to study, do homework, or take tests. They have the best parties, and pretty much any desire they have, Meri will help grant. Kicked out of the sorority for doing the undoable and having interest in Meri’s former boyfriend, Cindy loses out on such privileges. And if that weren’t enough, Cindy comes to find that her (now former) president is rather sadistic and is perfectly willing to harm anyone to get everything she wants.
Hazing Meri Sugarman provides an almost surreal view of the sorority life, but at the same time, it is fascinatingly ridiculous.
