Bonny Becker's A Visitor for Bear is a heartwarming, sweet story about a lone bear who lives in the woods. No one ever visits the bear, but he doesn't mind. The bear doesn't believe he would like them anyway. Thus, the bear keeps a sign on his door that specifically says that no visitors are allowed.
However, one morning, the bear hears tapping on his front door and he opens it to find a mouse. He tells him that he doesn't allow visitors and shoos the mouse away. He then goes back in the house and continues making his breakfast. But when the bear opens up the cupboard, he finds the mouse there. Again, he kicks the mouse out and continues with breakfast. But just as the bear opens the bread drawer, there is the mouse again! The bear keeps shooing the mouse away; but somehow, the mouse keeps getting back into the house and appearing in random places. The bear tries locking the door again and even goes as far as boarding the windows, stopping the chimney, and even plugging the drain in the bathroom. So what will the bear do when the little mouse miraculously appears back in the house?
With lovely watercolor illustrations, A Visitor for Bear is overall, a lovely story about friendship.
