A Taste of Murder

by Virginia Smith

Romance and mystery wrapped up in one.

Jasmine Delaney (Jazzy) comes to town with two friends to play music for Derrick's sister's wedding. They end up wrapped up in a murder investigation from the first day they check into the motel. They are moved to a special room in the motel where the owner usually stays. Many events happen and their lives become endangered. Jazzy finds a dead man in the bathtub at the room they are assigned when they first arrive. It haunts her all through this book. There are times you think you have figured out who the murderer is and then it turns on you and you are guessing again. This is a sign of a good mystery, which is the reason I listed it under Mystery, although it is also an Inspirational Romance. The way Jazzy and Derrick connect is so true of romance. When couples meet, they have differences and cannot see how they can honestly love one another. Yet those differences soon fade. The ending will grip you in fear until you are biting your nails or sitting on the edge of your seat as you hope and pray for Jazzy's safety. I liked how Jazzy was smart and alerted 911 to what was happening. It is an exciting book that you will never forget.
