Why We Suck

Humor is the best medicine, they say, and Dr. Leary has got the cure to just what ails you.

To call Denis Leary a man with a sharp wit, is possibly the understatement of the 21st century. Why We Suck is Leary's newest effort, and it certainly does shine. Coming in at 240 pages, this book goes surprisingly fast, perhaps because of the quick pace and easygoing way in which Leary writes - it's almost conversational.

Previous publications "by" Leary have actually been typed transcripts of some of his stand-up shows. This is mostly a meditation on what really annoys Leary in this day and age, and why certain people need to see things his way. Whether or not you are a fan of his stand-up comedy routines or starring role on FX's Rescue Me, Leary is a talented comedian and deserves kudos for doing his job: entertaining us.
