Forni then gives the reader “8 Rules for a Civil Life.” These are clear, attitudinal guidelines that most readers could easily assimilate. They are easy to apply to real-world situations and should not only reduce the rudeness factor you deal with in your life, but they may, indeed, improve the quality of your life from the inside of your consciousness to the wide world around you.
This uplifting little volume is an ideal aid to anyone you know who deals with a creepy supervisor, crabby clients, off-kilter friends & family, strangers, neighbors, service personnel, colleagues, or even a commute. Professor Forni covers an amazing spectrum of situations we all recognize as soul-destroying and shows the reader graspable ways to fight back and actually help cure both the “rude-r” and the “rude-ee” and he does it in an engaging, very readable and elegant way.
There is a portion of the book that offers “situation” and “solution” with dialogue examples and these are wonderfully true and instructive. These could save a career, a relationship, or even redeem a lousy day and are sure to improve the reader’s existence at some time and place.
Read this book. Give it to people you love. Give it to people you can’t stand (after you’ve done some instructive highlighting.) Thank you, Professor Forni for your remarkable contribution to the improvement of our lives.
