Eclipse

A love triangle and army of vampires complicate Bella Swan's life.

After two books packed with the desire of eternal love and the consequences it ensued, Stephenie Meyer continues the story of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen as their relationship and characters evolve from the two teenagers that were introduced in Twilight. The saga picks up the pace and excitement in its third installment, Eclipse, and continues to enthrall readers. There are more declarations of love, promises for the future and action in the third book.

So far, Bella has had to deal with a revenge-seeking vampire and the temporary loss of love and sanity. After Edward left her broken and alone in New Moon, Bella bounced back to life after forming a deep relationship with Jacob Black-who is a werewolf . . . a vampire's number one enemy. Jacob, being the young teenage boy that he is, sees his relationship with her as something more than a close friendship. His desire is to become to Bella what Edward has meant to her. Loyal and devoted Bella doesn't notice that-she's too busy trying to convince Edward to finally turn her into a vampire and talking him into taking their physical relationship to another level. Edward, on the other hand, does notice and he attempts to take her mind off Jacob by having her apply to colleges and, to her anxiety, asking her to marry him in exchange for all her desires. The tension between Edward and Jacob is heightened and Bella is stuck in the middle and has to ultimately decide who she wants to be with.

Meanwhile, an army of 'newborn' vampires has risen in Seattle and the Cullens are beginning to suspect that Victoria is behind it all. Now, not only does Bella have to worry about her love life, but about living long enough to make her decisions! Now the vampire clan and werewolf pack are on high alert to protect Bella and in the process, the small town of Forks.

Meyer's vivid words transport us into the middle of the characters' lives. By this time, you are emotionally involved with the story. This emotional investment makes the story more believable and makes the saga an addiction.
