Definitely Dead

by Charlaine Harris

Even a simple task like cleaning out a deceased relative’s dwelling can’t go normally for Sookie, especially when the relative was her ex druggie-turned-vampire cousin.

It’s been a few months since the vampire queen of Louisiana informed Sookie that her cousin, Hadley, whom she thought was lost forever to drugs, became a vampire, was the queen’s lover and met her “second death.” As the sole heir of Hadley’s belongings, it’s time for Sookie to travel to New Orleans to decide to trash and take.

But before Sookie can venture out of Bon Temps, Quinn, the attractive weretiger she met in the previous installment, literally tracks her to Merlotte’s and asks her out. He’s a constant presence during most of her stay in New Orleans and is there for Sookie when she learns that Bill returned to his hometown for more reasons than to take over his family’s homestead.

Whereas the new shifter/telepath couple faces its own obstacles early as they keep getting attacked, so much so that Sookie starts to suspect it’s because she’s around Quinn; but with a “gift” that attracts and puts off so many supes, Sookie finds out differently.
