Dogs
by Bruce Fogle, DVM
Learn about every canine breed under the sun in this handy pocket book.
Written by veterinarian Bruce Fogle, "Dogs" is the pocket-sized book that packs a big punch for dog-lovers. The book contains over 400 pages, depicting every breed imaginable in great detail.
Breeds are separated into their classified groups, i.e. "Scent hounds,"
"Terriers," "Gundogs," "Companion Dogs," etc., with a general summary of their origin and history. Each individual breed is then analyzed, with every one containing a large picture with characteristics pointed out, "Key Facts" on the breed, a color key of fur colors, and another summary specific to the breed. Also very useful, is a group of symbols that show whether the breed is good with children, suitable for urban living, easy to obedience train and more.
"Dogs" is a great reference book for anyone- from the family planning on getting a furry addition, to the future vet who wants to be knowledgeable about the various canine breeds.
