Slow Cooker Ready and Waiting Cookbook, The
by Rick Rodgers
A varied array of crockpot recipes.
There are 160 recipes in this slow cooker guide that range from appetizers to desserts. The introduction gives some answers to the most frequently asked questions concerning slow cooking, but this cookbook is definitely not for the novice. Some of the recipes are a little more than standard crockpot fare, which usually feature soups and stews. The recipe listing reads like a menu from a fine five-star restaurant: Lamb and Pine-Nut-Stuffed Grape Leaves; Veal, Pork and Spinach Pate; Curried Chicken and Apple Soup; Cassoulet; Greek Veal and Baby Onion Stifado and Cranberry Citrus Cake with Lemon Cream, are just a few of the culinary selections from which to choose.
I found a few simple recipes that I, a non-cooking enthusiast, would endeavor like Beef Stroganoff, but on the whole I would recommend this book for the advanced cook and cookbook collector.
