The Bird Book

This bird guide for kids comes packed inside a hard plastic bird feeder, which makes it two gifts in one. The feeder can hang from a tree or attach to a window with its suction cup, which is where I plan to put it on the outside of my Pre-K classroom.The book itself is geared to children with a reading level of grade 2 and up, but a younger child will enjoy being read to. The guide is a small pocket book which covers how to identify various birds as well as bird behaviors and feeding tips. There are colorful illustrations, making bird watching easier. Each page dedicated to a different type of bird is broken down into sections: markings, feeder food, natural food and field notes.Any child interested in learning about birds will enjoy this hands-on beginners guide to birding.
