Big Red Barn
by Margaret Wise Brown
Today the animals have the run of the field, and the farm!
I love stories depicting the elements of nature and the animals living among
it all. Here is a wonderful story about animals having the freedom of romping
around the farm, playing in the mud, soaking up the sun, and just enjoying
the fresh air and companionship of each other .
Author Margaret Wise Brown and Illustrator Felicia Bond take us on a visit to a farm where the beauty and innocence of life and nature take center stage.
Children will love the soft gentle rhyming words which tell what each animal
is trying to accomplish or express on each page. Lovingly detailed
drawings overflow with personality and are most impressive and peaceful
looking,
especially when scenes of night entering the farm are depicted.
A wonderful picture book where children can take part in finding the
different animals that live on a farm and talk about them as the story is
being read.
How fun it would be to visit a farm the next day after reading this story.
Lots of great memories would come from an experience like that and as an extra
bonus, try reading the book after visiting the farm too.
