Wedding Showers
by by Jennifer Adams
Both of these books make cute gifts for whoever is hosting a future shower.
As everyone knows, life is full of ups and downs. I am one of the lucky ones right now- I have not one, but two exciting events to look forward to. My daughter is getting married in two months and my daughter-in-law is having a baby in five months. I won't complain, but I am busy planning two showers. Most of the time when the job of planning a shower falls on your shoulders, you try to look for some ideas that are different and will make your party fun.
I got the two books, “Baby Showers” and “Wedding Showers” and read them from cover to cover, inserting little post-it notes on pages with suggestions I thought might fit my needs. There is so much joy and excitement that surrounds these two events and since they usually center around women only, showers are the time to pull out all the stops on the cutsie details that men don't usually appreciate anyway.
The books are small, concise and are broken down into the same categories-themes, invitations, decorations, recipes, favors and details. I was happy to find about a half dozen ideas I would incorporate into my showers, but I personally found the recipe section too long, since I am having my showers at restaurants. On the other hand, if you do any entertaining there are a lot of easy and appealing recipes you just might use on another occasion.
