John Donoghue writes poetry from a scientific point of view. This electrical engineer brings wonderful new insight to his poems because of his background. These poems use beautiful word choice to explain things like what god would say when asked about his creation: the world. He explores a range of topics from the syntactical error in the sentence “One step for man, one giant leap for man kind” to dealing with crazy neighbors.
The topics are ones that anyone can follow and relate to. The pieces all use excellent verbiage and look at the world in a new way. It will make the reader see things in a totally new and innovative way. I highly recommend this book simply because of the unique scientific seat from which Donoghue views his surroundings. It’s a must read and will keep you hooked from cover to cover.Title: A Small Asymmetry Author: John Donoghue Publisher: Cleveland State University Poetry Center ISBN: 1880834650 Review written by: Beth Bowers Reviewer's Rating:8
