AlphaOops! The Day Z Went First

by Alethea Kontis

One day the letter Z got tired of always being at the end of the alphabet.

“AlphaOops” is a funny mixed up alphabet book. The letter Z complained about always being last and took over the lead position. The rest of the letters fall in line, but not necessarily in order. This book is humorous all the way through.

The comedy comes across in the text, much of which will make the adult reading it chuckle. "Wait! Wait! U has been in the bathroom since P took over." "Do you still want me? We are not complete without U."

The illustrator, Bob Kolar, creates a colorful menagerie of life-like letters, with faces and feelings. W is all wet, M has a mustache and G of course is green.

This book introduces children age 3 to 7 to the letters of the alphabet, identifying the letter and the sound it represents. It also helps them to learn the letters out of order, a skill most ABC books don't address.
