Mother of All Baby Name Books, The
by Bruce Lansky
An excellent comprehensive guide to assist you in naming your child.
I found The Mother of All Baby Name Books by Bruce Lansky a very comprehensive source in assisting parents in finding that perfect name for their future child. Besides having over 94,000 entries, the entries were very ethnically diverse. The guide in the front of the book is very helpful in narrowing down your choices. It discusses things you would want to consider more than just nationality and religion. It talks about the number of syllables in a name and stereotypes that might be associated with names. Would you want to name your child Adolf or Judas? I didn't think so.
The book also lists the top 100 names of 2001 for both girls and boys. I always find lists interesting. This might assist you in picking a name if you don't want every girl on your child's future soccer team turning around when you say Emily. My favorite part is the Baby Name Worksheet. It is a simple point system for parents to use to assist them on deciding on a name without fighting.
Overall, a great guide for parents.
