Alphabet Explosion
by John Nickle
A search and count book from alien to zebra.
In this "eye spy" type book, children will be challenged to look for a specific number of items on each page from A to Z. Some are obvious and many are obtuse. Thankfully the answer key is in the back, tempting even parents to take a look before getting too frustrated. For instance on the letter A page, the arms on the alligator count separately and on the V page both words, vacuum and vacuuming, count toward the total.
This is a book a parent can enjoy with a child who already knows the alphabet and the sounds of the letters. A young child will find the colorful pages too busy and the task too daunting.
