Million Dollar Habits
by Robert J. Ringer
In Robert J. Ringer’s new book, “Million Dollar Habits,” published in 1990 by Wynwood, he guides the readers through a collection of proven habits and self-improvement lessons to show that success in business and in life is not achieved by mere luck or special skill, but from a direct result of daily steps. The author says: “Success is a matter of understanding and religiously practicing specific, simple habits that always lead to success.”
As he shares his personal life-changing experiences, you can appreciate his knowledge in the matter and how much he stresses the importance of staying focused, involved, and active in order to get the results you want. “The title ‘Million Dollar Habits’ is a euphemism for habits that lead to positive results. Everyone gets results, regardless of the nature of his actions.” You can also perceive that his goal throughout the book is to help the reader relate to his point of view and also awake them to take control of their present power to manage the outcome of their future.
To help the reader understand and implement the habits, Robert dedicates a full chapter to each, and within the chapters he presents anecdotes to illustrate how the habits were created, how they have affected and improved his life, and how the habits can be applied to every day life situations. In his list of habits he includes: the reality habit, in which he talks about how important it is to keep focus on our reality and how to avoid being led by emotions; the perspective habit, in which he talks about, how in the middle of life adversities, we need to keep a good perception of what is really important so we don’t fall victims to the illusion of misfortune; and the present living habit, in which he gives the five present living questions, which helps the reader understand the purpose in their goal. Within the chapters, he also includes practical “real-world rules” that relate to the habit being discussed.
Robert J. Ringer is considered to be a champion of the ‘win-win” philosophy and a defender of the individual freedom, and in his fourth book, he set out to share what he has learned and experienced in his own journey to personal and career success. “Million Dollar Habits” is clearly and cleverly written so that anyone who reads it can relate and easily incorporate the habits to their lives. The counsel found in this book is both powerful and influential.
