Mookey the Monkey Gets Over Being Teased

Mookey, unlike the rest of the monkeys, was born hairless and, after starting school, is soon teased by others.

Mookey the Monkey is a great learning tool to help the child who is being teased and to steer children away from teasing others. Mookey is born without hair, but he is loved unconditionally by his family, despite being different. Once he starts school, he learns the often painful lesson, that children can be cruel and tease each other. Mookey decides to ask advice of some of his friends in the forest, who share coping skills to deal with the hurt of being teased. The practical advice includes; walking away, laughing it off and finding friends who don't hurt your feelings.

The illustrations by Marcy Ramsey make Mookey a cute monkey who anyone would love.

The back of the book has notes to parents and teachers who are trying to help a child being teased.

This book is geared for ages 4 to 8.
