Decipher
by Stel Pavlou
Fantastic!
It is the year 2012, the year that the Mayans predicted the world would end . . .
Scientists are puzzled by a signal emanating from deep within the ice of Antarctica. Ancient monuments all over the planet, from Egypt to China to Mexico, are reacting to the signal which appears to be transmitting from the lost civilization of Atlantis, buried beneath the polar ice cap. Solar fires and worldwide disasters herald the rise of this lost city as scientists scramble to understand the unfolding events before it’s too late for mankind.
Stel Pavlou’s first book is fantastic! Although broken into a multitude of small chapters, his style of writing grips the reader and embroils them in the characters’ lives with a minimum of effort. Each chapter brings the reader closer to an apocalyptic climax that makes each turned page better than the last.
I read this book on a lazy Saturday during a thunderstorm that continually shook my walls, and it was by far one of my best days all year. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys a little science, history and mystery mixed with fast-paced action-adventure and stellar writing.
