D is for Deadbeat
by Sue Grafton
The 4th Kinsey novel
In Sue Grafton's fourth novel about a female private detective, Kinsey must deliver some money to a 15 year old kid. But when the old man who hired Kinsey dies, the cops think it was an accident. Kinsey thinks otherwise.
She finds out that he was a deadbeat, had been in jail, and had lots of enemies. She finds this case very hard to solve. There are no witnesses. And the only reason why she is investigating is because his daughter hired her.
I really enjoy this author's novels. But I have to admit, they are sort of all the same. Always about murder.
