Arts and Crafts Busy Book
by Trish Kuffner
A cute book for parents to keep their kids occupied.
The Arts and Crafts Busy Book is a great guide for parents who do not
feel
artistic creativity is their strong suit. It is especially well suited
for
parents of toddlers. I have known many toddlers in my days as a speech
pathologist and I've found that most parents stay away from doing art
activities with toddlers. They either feel that their children are too
young or worse yet, that art is messy. As the book mentions, art is a
sensory experience for toddlers. The importance of this can't be
stressed
enough. You want your toddler to grow up not being afraid of
experiencing
new environments. For those afraid of the mess or unsure of how to begin
the first chapter is full of useful information
pertaining to how to organize supplies and structure an activity.
This is a very comprehensive and well-organized book. The chapters are
divided by art medium and occasion such as holidays and gifts. Most of
the
activities seem relatively simple and use common household objects. I
especially liked the chapter on educational arts and crafts. Parents
Are often focused on teaching their young children shapes, colors,
and numbers. Your child will find the educational activities in this
book much more entertaining
than flash cards!
I found this book to be a great resource for parents of young children.
I
think it would make a great baby shower gift!
