Cocktails for Three
by Madeleine Wickham
This author goes by two different names. She is most famous for her Shopaholic books!
This author also goes by the name of Sophie Kinsella, the famous author of such books as The Undomestic Goddess, and the new book, Shopaholic and Baby.
Three women meet at a bar for drinks, once a month, and gossip, talk about their problems, etc....
Maggie is a soon to be mother. She seems to be thrilled, but deep down she is very, very scared. It's her first pregnancy and she doesn't know what to do. Her husband and her friends don't know that there is anything wrong.
Roxanne is having an affair with a married man. For 6 years it has been going on, but her friends have no idea who it is. Mr. Married also has kids.
And Candice, well she meets a ghost from her past, and gets her a job and offers her place for free. Candice's friends don't like this girl, and think she is using Candice.
Can Maggie survive this pregnancy? Can Roxanne be content to just being the mistress, and nothing more? And is this girl using Candice? Candice is very close to losing her friends and her job. Will she open her eyes and listen to her friends?
This book has a lot of that British humor. I personally love British books, just the way they talk is so different.
This author is definitely a talented writer, you can tell by all the number one books she has.
