Vanish

A must read book that will have you turning page after page until the end.
This book has a little bit of everything. A pregnant detective being held hostage, about to give birth to her first child. A government cover-up. A Prostitution Ring. Torture. The list could go on and on.
Maura who works at the morgue, is shocked when she finds one of the dead people moving inside a body bag. She opens it up and finds a girl who is very much alive. Shocked and startled, Maura calls 911. The girl ends up at the hospital, alive and well, until she gets a hold of her bodyguard's gun and shoots him, and then takes Maura hostage. Maura eventually escapes, but the girl ends up taking 6 more people hostage inside the hospital, including Jane Rizzolie, who is a pregnant detective about to give birth.
Jane's husband, Maura, and the CIA, FBI, Government Intelligence, and Boston PD try to get Jane and the other people out of there, but have no luck, until this guy named Joe just off the street, walks into the hospital, past all of the guards and policemen.
Apparently this girl knows him and he also brought guns with him. Now the police are scared, and so is Jane's husband. The hostage takers agree to let some people go, if they meet their demands, which is to send in a camerman, and a specific reporter.
Meanwhile Jane is determined to survive, and not let her captors know that she is a detective, seeing as how these people don't like cops much.
I enjoyed this book very much. In fact I read it in 2 days. I would reccommend this book to anyone, of any age or sex.
I haven't up until this point, read a book that moved me, or that was so powerful. This is a must read. I would love to see this book get made into a movie. Go, read it, if you have a chance. You won't be disappointed.
