Rickity and Snickity are two adorable bear cubs, who sneak a ride to a hot air balloon fiesta and ultimately take a sky high ride. This book, which is one of a series, is based on the early literacy skills of rhyme, rhythm and repetition. The musical text will engage young children with the catchy refrain - "Rickity and Snickity, Rocky Mountain Cubs, You are the bear cubs that everyone loves!"
The illustrations, by J-P Loppo Martinez, are bright and colorful, especially when depicting the varied hot air balloons.
The back of the book holds the music and the CD, a Parent/Teacher Activity page, as well as Science Notes about Bears. The book, based on a yearly event in Albuquerque - The International Balloon Fiesta, might spark children's interest in ballooning, or a state other than their own. This book is appropriate for ages 3 to 8. The accompanying musical CD allows pre-readers to listen to the story.
