J. Anthony Brown leaves the Tom Joyner Morning Show (Report)

The Tom Joyner Morning Show (TJMS) has long been known as the "Party with a Purpose," but the party may have just ended for funnyman and longtime co-host J. Anthony Brown.

According to Radio Facts, Brown abruptly quit the show after walking out of the studio during the first commercial break of the Wednesday morning broadcast. Audio of the exchange can be heard here.

Brown was heard saying he's "quitting," and that "you guys can have it man, I've had enough of this," as Tom and co-host Sybil Wilkes laugh. Their laughter dies down as Brown appears to shut off his microphone.

UrbanSite  reports that Reach Media, a subsidiary of the TJMS's parent company Radio One, cut Brown's pay by 50 percent recently. However, Reach Media insists that Brown is still contractually bound to the company and they plan to discuss the events that transpired. The show will continue to air tomorrow with weekly co-host Sherri Shepherd and guests Marlon Wayans, Omari Hardwick, Affion Crocket and Charlie Murphy.
