Contents of Michael Jackson’s last home sell for over $1 million at auction

Furniture and other contents of the Bel Air mansion that Michael Jackson called home at the time of his 2009 death were sold at auction for over $1 million in total Saturday. The auction included paintings, furniture and a mirror with a hand-written message left by the King of Pop.

Julien’s Auctions held the sale, estimating that the 524 items in the sale would only make at least $200,000 to $400,000, according to The Associated Press.

Conrad Murray sentenced to four years in prison

Dr. Conrad Murray, who was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson, was sentenced today. Murray faced up to four years in prison or probation. The sentence was that Dr. Conrad Murray would receive four years in prison. The judge stated that Murray is and still remains dangerous to the public. Murray will receive the maximum term but might not serve all of the time behind bars. Murray will receive four years in custody due to the involuntary manslaughter conviction.

Michael Jackson biopic in the works

Michael Jackson will soon be returning to theater screens, but not in a concert film. According to a report, Monticello Picture Company is talking to one of the executors of Jackson’s estate to produce a film.

Tom Pollack, who runs Monticello with director Ivan Reitman, told Variety, which first broke the story, that he is working to make a film covering various points of the "King of Pop’s" life. However, Pollack did stress that the deal has not been finalized. Also, a spokesman for the estate would not confirm the report.

After a deliberation that lasted 10 hours and seven minutes, the jury sat before the court with a unanimous guilty verdict. The courtroom sat in utter silence as the verdict was read until a high-pitched squeal from Rebbie Jackson's daughter finally broke the silence.

Conrad Murray found guilty in Michael Jackson death trial

Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's personal cardiologist, was convicted on Monday of involuntary manslaughter of the singer, who died of a drug overdose in 2009.

After a complicated trial, which began on Sept. 27, and a seven-man, five-woman jury deliberation lasting 8 and a half hours over the past two days, a guilty verdict was decided under the rule of Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor.

Michael Jackson supporters enter lottery for seats to the Murray trial

Michael Jackson has billions of fans across the globe, and many of those same devoted individuals have traveled to Los Angeles to show their support.

Fans carried sunflowers, the favorite of Jackson, and various banners sharing their personal messages toward the justice they hoped would be dealt for their idol. For some individuals, just being in the vicinity of the court house was enough, but for others, their presence inside the trial itself to see the events take place with their own eyes would give them the closure they needed.
