I was out to dinner with friends when one of them received a text with the sad and shocking news that Whitney Houston died. Though Houston's struggles were no secret everyone hoped she could make a comeback.

After gasping and grabbing our iphones to verify that this was true, we started mentioning our favorite songs' of hers.

Her incredibly powerful voice graced so many love songs.

Adele's anticipated performance....

The big Super Bowl winners from the NY Giants, Victor Cruz and Mario Manningham were in attendance to present the award for “Best Rock Performance” with Pauley Perette from NCIS.

The Foo Fighters won for “Walk,”a song done in old school style on analog tape in a garage.

Next up was a long awaited performance reuniting the Beach Boys.

To get the crowd ready, Maroon 5 sang “Little Surfer Girl,” followed by Foster the People singing, “Wouldn’t it Be Nice.” The Beach Boys’ Brian Wilson and Mike Love were back together to sing “Good Vibrations,” which still makes us feel good.

10. “How Will I Know” was written in 1985. It was intended to show Houston’s ability to appeal to a variety of different audiences, including R&B, dance, pop, and adult contemporary. This song spent two weeks at the top of the charts and was Houston’s second hit to make it to number one. Her upbeat, colorful video shows Houston singing, dancing, and enjoying her newly found feelings of love.
