A Visit to the Krispy Kreme Factory

Infused with anticipation and excitement for the tour of the Krispy Kreme factory, my day in Winston-Salem, North Carolina started a bit sleepy. The town seems quiet and reserve, not very many people on the street. The trip to the Krispy Kreme headquarters was short (calories burnt = one) and easy to find since the office stands out with its signature bow tie sign.

Reading, Pennsylvania

In the heart of Pennsylvania is the city of Reading, a blossoming metropolis surrounded by some of the most beautiful forest-covered mountains in America. William Penn's sons, Richard and Thomas, and Conrad Weiser founded the town in 1748. German emigrants settled there after the French and Indian War to give the region its distinct feel and dialect. John Updike set his "Rabbit" series in Reading, where he was born. And NBC's Today Show called Reading one of America's "Up and Coming Cities". Of course, we had to stop by.
