Magic

Penn Jillette

Penn of Penn and Teller fame

The famous magician duo, Penn & Teller's television show, Bullshit, doesn't claim to have all of the answers, but they do know one thing. With science and research they are more than ready, willing and able to defraud and debunk all bullshit that is out there. Penn explains how he thinks about things, which really gives a good in-depth look at the show itself.

DM) After watching Bullshit and seeing you debunk nearly everything; I am left wondering if there is anything that you can just have faith in?

PJ) Those are very, very big words. It depends on how you define faith.

Amazing Jonathan, The

Almost everybody has seen the magician/comedian The Amazing Jonathan on HBO and dozens of other television specials which captivate the crowd. Not everybody was fortunate enough to see him when he was beginning his career, performing as a street performer.

DM) I remember the first time I saw you doing a special on HBO.

AJ) Yep, I think HBO and Alan Thicke's "Thicke of the Night" both really gave me my first big breaks. They happened at the same time.

DM) I remember watching your show and, at first, what I thought was a magic routine, and at one point I couldn't tell the difference between magic and comedy.

AJ) Yeah, that's the trick there.

DM) What do you call what you do, then?

AJ) I would call it more comedy than magic.

Copperfield, David

David has completely changed and expanded the world of magic and illusion. He's been called a 'modern day Houdini', and the 'world's best magician'. In our interview he tells a little bit about how he started in magic and the other sides of him that make him tick.

DM) You do almost 500 performances a year. Do you ever think of slowing down? Doesn't it take a toll on your life?

DC) Well, fortunately, I love what I do, so even with this schedule, I never tire of performing in my chosen profession, the Art of Magic!

DM) When did you first become interested in magic?

DC) I became interested in magic at an early age. I learned a card trick from my grandfather when I was seven, which involved four Aces. As a matter of fact, the illusion is in my current show.
