Blink-182

Subtitle:
After a few years together Blink-182 is still trying to do things that are exciting, fresh and new. They've tried recording the record a new way, and a new tour that costs only a dollar.

DM) How is the Dollabill tour going?

MH) It's going great. We're paying for everything ourselves. All of the tickets are a dollar.

DM) What made you think of doing that?

MH) It seemed like a fun thing to do. We've been lucky with our band and our fans have really supported us, so it seemed like a fun thing to go out and play shows for a dollar. We're really stoked because all of the venues on the tour let us use the rooms for free for the night. They've been really supportive of that. We're paying for everything else right out of our pockets.

Rodney Anonymous

Subtitle:
Who else would you expect Rodney Anonymous from the Dead Milkmen (of the hit Punk Rock Girl fame), but Wink Martindale? Rodney shows us that there's life after being in one of the best most successful punk bands of all time.

DM) Rodney, it's a pleasure to speak with...

RA) (interrupting) Oh, I enjoyed your interview with Wink Martindale. The minute I saw Wink Martindale's name, I had to read that one first because I'm a big fan of his music.

DM) Most people know him for the game shows; you actually heard the CD that he did?

RA) I used to hear it when I was younger. My parents would travel with it and we'd pick up these country stages. His songs were some of my favorites!

Butt Trumpet

Subtitle:
Sharon Needles of the band Butt Trumpet. One of the most unique, bands in punk rock get down and dirty and tell what's really going on in her mind.

DM) The first thing I'd like to know is a little bit of the history of the band. What is the story behind 'Butt Trumpet'?

SN) Well, we did the Primitive Enema thing [their latest album] on Pollyanna which is a part of Dionysus records. We did a couple of singles with them first. We put out the cd. Then actually there was a period where we kind of split up, kind of needed a break from each other and EMI picked up the cd, and Duff like it a lot, he's the A&R guy.

Crizzy

DM) How did you come up with the name of the band?

C) Here's how we came up with the name "Crizzy & The Punx": Crizzy is my nickname (for Chris), because of my reggae style. The Punx, well, the name fits. Billy Lord and Mark Empire are actually getting pretty well known--"Hey, you're one of the Punx" ...nobody knows their real names!

DM) Who are your influences?

C) Our influences are pretty diverse. While in Jamaica as a teen, I was turned on to Reggae. My influences range from Bob Marley to Rage Against the Machine, not forgetting Kurt Cobain.
