Fans of ABC’s soap operas One Life To Live and All My Children were excited when Rich Frank & Jeff Kwatinetz’s Prospect Park announced that they had signed a licensing deal with ABC to revive the shows for online distribution. However, it looks like those plans are on the brink of collapse, as the company realized that the transition is going to be much harder than they thought.

The soap opera that many took as a fact of life (after all, it ran 41 years) and has launched the careers of so many familiar faces ends today on a cliffhanger.

According to People, ABC had announced earlier this year that All My Children and its sister soap One Life to Live would come to an end, though the shows may be reincarnated as webisodes.

In her new memoir, All My Life: A Memoir, actress Susan Lucci rips ABC executive Brian Frons for canceling All My Children. Lucci has played Erica Kane since 1970 on the show.

In her book, she states Frons as the reason for the show's decline, citing his installation of a new head writer to replace Agnes Nixon, who created the show.

“I think our being in this position is the result of some very bad decisions by you,” Lucci wrote, according to The New York Post.
