Emily Maynard had her happy ending with Brad Womack when he was The Bachelor, but their engagement ended last summer.

The 25-year-old will get another chance at love, however, as she has been confirmed as the next Bachelorette.

Sources say that Maynard was apprehensive to sign on to the ABC show, as she didn’t want it to take her away from her daughter, but the show will reportedly accommodate her and move to her hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina.

Monday night featured new programs on two of the major networks. ABC premiered its new season of The Bachelor to embarrassing numbers, while CBS aired the first new episodes of its popular sitcoms and Hawaii Five-0. NBC, with Who’s Still Standing? and Fear Factor and Fox, with its night of House repeats, were both left in the dust.

The newest Bachelor contestant, Ben Flaknik, was seen getting rejected by last season’s Bachelorette Ashley Hebert on the finale of the show.

The 28-year-old winemaker did his press rounds this week, ahead of the January 2 premiere of the newest season of the hit ABC show.

Going into it, he didn’t seek any advice from prior Bachelor contestants – and it’s not because none of their relationships have proved successful. Rather, he wanted a different kind of experience.

After tying the knot last year in April, The Bachelor winner and husband Nik Richie welcomed their first child into the world yesterday, on 11-11-11 as expected.

As for their daughter’s unusual name, Mail Online reported that it started out as a joke and then just kind of stuck.

“Her name came to us at the beginning of my pregnancy, because she was getting so much press,” Shayne told E! News before the birth.
