The Beverly Hillbillies actress Donna Douglas won a lawsuit against Mattel and CBS Consumer Products over a Barbie doll that used her likeness. She claimed that the companies used her likeness and photograph without her permission to make and promote the doll.

Tattooed Barbie flys off shelves, many parents outraged

For years, Barbie has been an icon for children. She’s been everything, including cheerleader, doctor, and even the president. Now, she’s gotten another transformation.

The doll, made by Italian fashion label Tokidoki, wears her hair in a pink bob. She dons sky high sparkly stilettos and skin tight leopard print pants with tattoos on her chest, up her neck and down her arm. She also carries a dog wearing a cactus outfit on a leash named Bastardino.

Mattel co-founder, Elliot Handler, dies at 95

Elliot Handler, the co-founder of the Mattel toy company, passed away last night.

Handler, 95, was taken to the hospital on Thursday night and passed away shortly after, from heart failure.

Handler and his business partner, Harold Matson, founded Mattel in 1945. It has since become the world’s largest toy company and includes over 100 toys and over 30 games.

During his time as co-founder, Handler contributed to a number of successful product lines.

Mattel Creating Barbie & Ken Dolls Inspired by “Mad Men”

Ken and Barbie dolls will replicate characters from AMC’s hit TV series, “Mad Men.”

The New York Times has reported that the dolls will be styled based on four main characters from the show: Joan Holloway (Christina Hendricks), Roger Sterling (John Slattery), Don Draper (Jon Hamm), and Betty Draper (January Jones).

The popular drama series debuted in 2007 and is based on the competitive, male dominated world of advertising during the 1960s.
