Giuliana Rancic undergoes surgery for breast cancer, Christina Applegate voices her support

Entertainment reporter Giuliana Rancic is recovering from her surgery Tuesday.

Her husband told reporters Thursday that Rancic was recuperating after a double lumpectomy. The surgery was part of the E! host’s treatment for breast cancer.

CNN reports doctors discovered the cancer cells early, while Rancic was going through a round of in vitro fertilization. It was the couples’ third attempt at the conception process.

E! news host Giuliana Rancic revealed she was battling breast cancer on Monday's Today Show, and while she's garnered much support from her celebrity friends, one actress knows exactly what she's going through because she has gone through it herself.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the show will be executive produced by Saturday Night Live’s Lorne Michaels, and written by Saturday Night Live writer Emily Spivey.

Christina Applegate has been cast in the lead role of an NBC comedy pilot that will be written and executive produced by Emily Spivey (Saturday Night Live, Parks and Recreation). Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock) is also attached to the project as an executive producer.

The single-camera comedy centers on an irritable and witty working mother, played by Applegate, who gives an intriguing perspective of parenthood through her point of view.

Actress Christina Applegate and musician Martyn LeNoble are proud parents to a baby girl after Applegate gave birth on January 27 to her daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble, in Los Angeles. According to E! Online, the couple welcomed their baby last week but waited a while to make the announcement public.

Applegate is a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed with an early stage of the cancer in 2008. She is now reportedly cancer-free.

Actress and baby girl are 'doing fine.'

Christina Applegate and Dutch musician Martyn LeNoble have welcomed a baby girl, according to The Associated Press.

In a statement from the actress's publicist, it was revealed that Sadie Grace LeNoble was born in Los Angeles on January 27. No other details have been released apart from mother and baby are doing fine.

Her rep announced in a statement to People, “Actress Christina Applegate and fiancé, a musician Marty LeNoble, welcomed daughter Sadie Grace LeNoble on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2011, in Los Angeles.” She added, “Mother and daughter are doing great.”
