In an interview that took place days before his guilty verdict of the manslaughter in the death of Michal Jackson, Conrad Murray spoke about how he was deceived by the “King of Pop.”

The controversial interview has received backlash from Jackson’s family members, who urged MSNBC not to air it, but in it, Murray reveals some insight into their relationship.

MSNBC to air Conrad Murray documentary

MSNBC will air a documentary about convicted doctor Conrad Murray, Thursday.

Murray was convicted Monday of involuntary manslaughter in the June 2009 death of legendary pop star Michael Jackson. The documentary, entitled Michael Jackson and The Doctor: A Fatal Friendship, will feature an interview with Murray from Nov. 2009, before he was charged. The interview was conducted by U.K. broadcaster Steve Hewlett.

It has been widely reported that Dr. Conrad Murray faced a guilty verdict in the involuntary manslaughter case of the late Michael Jackson.

While still inside the courtroom, Murray was cuffed and subsequently taken into custody. New reports are surfacing, however, that he did not take his first night in jail too well.

Conrad Murray, Michael Jackson's personal cardiologist, was convicted on Monday of involuntary manslaughter of the singer, who died of a drug overdose in 2009.

After a complicated trial, which began on Sept. 27, and a seven-man, five-woman jury deliberation lasting 8 and a half hours over the past two days, a guilty verdict was decided under the rule of Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor.

Michael Jackson's doctor Conrad Murray, said he took all necessary precautions when he treated Jackson, in a recording that was played to jurors at his trial on Friday.

As the Los Angeles Times reports, Murray spoke to two detectives in the recording. He attempted to explain the names of the drugs he gave to the pop star. He said he tried, without success, to get Jackson to sleep after prescribing multiple drugs besides propofol, the one that eventually killed him.

Judge Michael Pastor of the Los Angeles County Superior Court agreed Monday to delay the trial, the Los Angeles Times reported. Judge Pastor delayed the trial at the request of the defense attorneys who are representing Dr. Conrad Murray in the trial.
