While this weekend is a long weekend, box office numbers are not expected to be too big, however Universal’s Contraband with Mark Wahlberg has already gotten off to a surprisingly strong start, making a decent $9 million on Friday alone. The other major releases, Joyful Noise and Beauty and the Beast in 3D, also had decent openings, while The Devil Inside gave off hints as to how far it will fall.

All is not perfect between Disney superstars Demi Lovato and Miley Cyrus. Lovato recently opened up about her friendship with Cyrus, claiming that at times the two have a contentious relationship.

Lovato stated, “[Miley] and I are strong headed. When we fight it’s brutal and we’re like, ‘We’re never going to be friends again!' Then two days later, we’re like, ‘I love you and I miss you!’”

2012 is just around the corner and it's about that time when people craft a resolution, or multiple resolutions, for the New Year and try to stick by it.
